Cowboys win again - T helps seal the deal!!

This is Tristan's second week playing flag.  He's LOVING it. I don't know enough about the game to even explain all he's been doing but he blocks the QB or whoever he passes the ball to and... he's been receiving some.  Holt would have to give more info.

His coach has apologized for Tristan not "getting the ball more" but I'm not complaining, I'm just thankful he gets to play with Grayson again.


See, TCA didn't have enough boys.  We signed up for the league and Tristan agreed to be put on "any team" - and what does God do... God puts us with Grayson and the TCA boys!!  We know many from church - and I was just SO thankful that his first experience was with G.

I haven't really expected much of this team or this season. Tristan played flag years ago and doesn't know that much about the game.  Well he does now!! His coach Malachi is VERY intense but he loves the boys.  He doesn't take any of their crap - they mouth off or misbehave - they run, they do push-ups or sit ups. Period. There are two TCA teams combined which is fun... and then there is T.  Malachi treats him like one of the gang and doesn't go easy on him - it's great.

This past Sunday we had two games in 40 degree weather.  It was VERY cold but the boys went for it.  The 2nd game was at 6pm. Guess who pulled flags on the QB and got a safety!?  Yup!  T-Bone.

oh and wait, was there more?  Sure was!

In the final moments... tie game... HE SCORES the winning touchdown - GAME OVER - COWBOYS win!!

I was SO proud.  SO PROUD. And yes, it cost me a slushy and it was worth every penny and the sugar high!!


I am SO proud of the athlete you are but much more than that... I'm proud of the man you are becoming.  This is a blessing to play with Grayson, a blessing to have such leadership and coaches - a blessing for you AND for me.

I do feel sad to my core that TCA can't be our home.  We are well loved by the families there, well established and even go to church with them.  I'm so tempted to test you again, so tempted - but I won't.  I have to trust that if this IS the place for you - God will make that clear.

Things at Grace have been tough lately... so for now, we just wait and see!

    As always, I wish I could have been there to cheer you on, buddy but I’m so happy that you had such a great game ...I remember being there when flag football was brand new to you and Grayson and you had so much fun.
    I may be far away but I cheer you on in everything you do and I love �� you so much, Tristan.....

She turned one and the day was fun!!

Can't believe she's ONE already - Happy Birthday Baylor!!! she's injured so we couldn't take her to the dog park or running or anything she would have loved... praying her leg heals - can't really afford a $4k surgery!!! Then, Braeden came over and we headed to the company picnic! Awkward "family" photo... hahahahaha they spent most of their time in the bounce house... but there was some ping pong action as well... And when T got in line for the pinata... I warned them... that no other would most likely go after him... three swings and he sheered the head right off that thing! Lots of loot for all. The kiddos were pretty jazzed! Then, before the day was over we went out to watch my bosses all get hit in the face with pie.  $5 each throw and it all went to charity. I donated $20 (but I knew I couldn't hit them) and promptly gave those tickets away. Krueger... hilarious! Such...

And just like that... he's TEN!

Oh man, these posts are such a celebration but also SO hard. I mean, a year.  A YEAR has gone by. HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?  And let's not dive too deep into that because that means I'm almost 48!!! But I love this kid.... BIG TIME He had 3 basketball games this weekend.  He killed it.  I love watching him play... he's just a natural.  But he's also kind.  If someone gets hurt, he's concerned.  He usually takes a knee but sometimes he's so worried the team has to jar him to do it.  That's something I love about him. He LOVES his friends. I mean LOVES and it is just the sweetest.  He's a stinker sometimes (who isn't) but he's a great friend that will stand by you, stand up for you and he will love you.  That's something I love about him. He loves animals.  He sees them, talks about them, recites the 9,000 facts he knows about them.  He loves Baylor, still talks about Aslan and Simba.  Another thing I lo...
